First Time In Malta

I have been on holidays to Malta earlier this month. It was the first time I visited the island.

The first impression was of weirdness. But I grew  liking the mix of arabic/north-african atmosphere, latin culture and british undercurrent.

Valletta, the capital and  a UNESCO world heritage site, was amazing.

We also visited Mdina, the old capital during the arab times: it’s a beautiful city where old is preserved and everything looks old. I especially like the tranquility  reigning in the place

Of course we did treat ourselves with some of Mediterranean beaches and sea.

One thing that caught my attention is the bus network. the tickets are cheap, the bus are owned by their drivers, and the old buses (still quite a few of them in service) are as photogenic as the London ones:
